BBC Iplayer on the Ipad

Fairly recently I added a UK VPN proxy server, mainly as a result of a demand from Ipad users. The VPN server has been running for a year now and I feel confident in offering this service to more users.

Although for a a PC and a MAC I feel the proxy is more than adequate for watching the BBC iplayer the VPN does offer an additional line of security and has been the preferred means of connectivity for companies for this reason.

Also when you are setting up a proxy in a browser it is at a more superficial level, where as in a VPN it is at the operating level of the computer.

So what is a VPN

To give a more detailed description A VPN is a Virtual Private Network where the user VPNs uses advanced encryption protocols and secure tunnelling techniques to encapsulate all online data transfers and therefore gives added security to public networks, particularly when using WiFi Hotspots and the Internet.

This privacy is increased with a VPN because the user’s initial IP address is replaced with one from the VPN provider and in our case replaced with one from the UK, so therefore wherever you are in the world it appears you are based in the UK.

So if you would prefer a VPN set up then if you can fill in the form on the website and put in the comments VPN I will set you up for free for a month so you can test for yourself.
